Overview

Presets let you save a set of compression settings under a name and switch to it with one click. Compresto ships with three built-in presets, and you can save as many of your own as you like.

Using a preset

1
Add files to the main window. The Preset row appears in the options sidebar once files are added.
2
Open the Preset picker and choose a preset from Built-in or My Presets
3
Press Compress
Choosing a preset applies its settings immediately. If you change any of those settings afterwards, the picker switches back to Custom.
The Preset picker is disabled while compression is running.

Built-in presets

Built-in presets can’t be edited or deleted.

Saving your own preset

1
Adjust the compression options in the main window
2
Press Save next to the Preset picker
3
Enter a Preset name and press Save
The new preset is selected right away and appears under My Presets.

What a preset includes

Output folder, file name format, Remove input file(s), FPS and target file size are not part of a preset.

Managing presets

Go to Settings > Presets to see all presets. Each one shows a short summary of its settings.
  • Edit: Opens an editor where you can rename the preset and change its image, video, GIF, PDF, and EPUB settings. Press Done to save.
  • Delete: Press the trash icon and confirm. If the deleted preset was selected, the picker switches back to Custom.

Presets in Drop Zone

Drop Zone can compress with a preset too. In Settings > Drop Zone, set Compression settings to Preset, then choose the preset to use. See Drop Zone for details.
Need different settings for just one file in a batch? Use per-file settings instead of switching presets.
