We’ve just rolled out a new update packed with powerful features, smarter behavior, and essential bug fixes. Here’s what’s new:
🔧 New Features
🧃 Convert WebM videos to different output formats
Now you can change the output format of WebM videos to suit your needs — more flexibility, fewer workarounds
🎞️ Export in MOV format and convert Transport Stream files
Need .mov files? Compresto now lets you export directly to MOV, perfect for Apple workflows and video editing
📺 Support for Transport Stream files
TS video files are now supported, so you can compress or convert them without extra steps.
🖼️ Full support for AVIF images, including transparency
We’ve added support for AVIF images, including alpha channel transparency - ideal for web and design use
🏷️ Customize output filename format with {resolution} param
Customize your output filenames with resolution info automatically included. Great for keeping files organized
🎯 Set an exact target file size
You can now enter the precise file size you want — and Compresto will do the rest.
👌 “Acceptable” quality image compression
Balance size and quality with a new option to compress images just enough — without visible quality loss
⚙️ Improvements
🖱️ Smarter Option key behavior when dropping files
Dropping files into the main window now responds to the Option key more intuitively:
- If the default action is Replace, hold Option to Append
- If the default is Append, hold Option to Replace
This gives you quick control over how files are added, without changing settings.
🐞 Bug Fixes
- “Open With” and Folder Monitoring now work for videos without audio
- Fixed green background issue in H.265 videos
- Videos with odd dimensions are now processed correctly
- Audio and video file sizes are now calculated accurately
