Compresto 1.20: New Features, Fixes & Improvements

We’ve just rolled out a fresh update packed with handy new features, quality-of-life improvements, and important bug fixes — all based on your feedback!

Here’s what’s new:

🆕 New Features

🎯 Set Maximum File Size When Compressing Videos

Now you can define a target file size when compressing a video. This is perfect for when you need to meet upload size limits (e.g., for email, social media, or file sharing) without guessing the right quality settings.

📁 Export Output Files Into a Subfolder Within the Input Directory

Want to keep things organized? You can now choose to export all output files into a dedicated folder inside the input directory. No more digging through downloads or moving files manually — it’s all sorted for you.

❌ Remove Pending Files During Compression

Need to cancel or tidy up your file queue mid-process? You can now easily remove pending files during compression without restarting the whole batch. It’s all about giving you more control on the fly.

🏷️ Quality Parameter in Output File Name

We’ve added a quality variable to the output filename, so you can quickly see which version is which (especially handy when compressing the same video at different settings). This makes file management a lot more intuitive.

🔧 Improvements

🖱️ DropZone Now Only Appears Near the Notch

To create a cleaner workspace, the drag-and-drop DropZone will now only appear when you’re dragging files close to the notch area. This small tweak helps avoid unnecessary pop-ups and keeps the UI distraction-free until you need it.

🐞 Bug Fixes

🎵 Audio Lost After Compressing FLV and AVI — Fixed

Some users reported missing audio after compressing FLV and AVI formats — that issue is now resolved. Your videos will now retain full sound clarity during compression.

🖼️ Audio Lost After Converting to WebP — Fixed

We’ve fixed a bug where audio was being stripped when converting to WebP animations. You’ll now get the expected results with both visuals and audio intact.

We hope this update makes your workflow smoother and more enjoyable. We truly appreciate all the feedback that helps us improve — so keep it coming!

Happy compressing!
