# Sleep after compression

> Put your Mac to sleep automatically when compression finishes

## Overview

Compressing a large batch of videos can take a while. Start the job, walk away, and let Compresto put your Mac to sleep when it's done.

<Note>
  While compression is running, Compresto keeps your Mac awake so long jobs aren't interrupted.
</Note>

## How to Enable

Turn on **Sleep when finish** in the main window's options before you start compressing.

You can also turn it on in **Settings** > **General** with **Put computer to sleep when finish compressing**. Both switches control the same setting.

## The Countdown

When compression finishes, Compresto shows a **Putting computer to sleep** alert that counts down from 10 seconds.

| Button | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Sleep Now** | Put the Mac to sleep immediately |
| **Cancel** | Stay awake |

If you don't press anything, your Mac goes to sleep when the countdown reaches zero.
